The funny thing is, they don’t. They often jump to a solution that lacks in many ways, because it barely addresses the few inputs I gave (since they asked no follow up, even when I suggest they ask for more requirements).

I’ve conducted about 60 interviews this year, and have spotted a lot of AI usage. At first I was quite concerned, then I realized that in nearly all cases I’d spotted usage, a pattern stood out. Of the folks I spotted, all spoke far too cle

Imo I’d prefer terminal for this as well. Ie; if I could keep context specific to a branch, or even within a branch switch contexts.

Agreed. Most services start deployments on a small number of hosts in single AZs in small less-known regions, ramping up from there. In all my years there I don’t recall “us-east-1 first”.

Fairly accurate take on a lot of AWS. I worked there from 2015-2022, and overlapped in CloudFront for some time. Can’t say anything in there comes off different from my own experience, though my own time there was through a different growth

“Global” and “edge” services such as IAM, Route53, CloudFront and so on have dependencies on us-east-1, so even if you don’t think you do, you probably do.

Some of the “global” and “edge” services depend on us-east-1. See: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/whitepapers/latest/aws-fault-iso... “In the aws partition, the IAM service’s control plane is in the us-east-1 Region,

This is great! I can see this useful across a variety of self-assessment things: - I’m tired often, are there certain patterns that align with that? - I’m feeling anxious, what events in a day (or other inputs) align with that?

How do you think the current political climate has shifted this? It seems maybe individuals won’t express a non conformist view as easily, but politics has grown more extreme in terms of what acceptable positions are in the first place.
