Slightly unrelated but there is something weirdly consistent about how Amazon treats their workers and people who have to work with them. I remember just exhibiting an AWS conference was the most time-intensive grueling event I've ever

At first i wanted to say of course insects count against being vegetarian. But then I thought about it...vegetarians don't want to eat living things, but technically plants are alive too. Is mass farming vegetables as inhumane as mass-

Yeah I remember sitting next to a VA pilot on a flight once and he was gushing about the new AirBus 321s. And he was right. Their take offs feel like magic carpet rides compared to boeing 737s.

Peskin's NIMBY supporters are basically on the same level of denial of trump supporters...they don't care what their own party's candidates do, they just want to make sure their side wins.

Terrible comments like this make me worried about HN. Seems like the worst of the worst on Reddit are finding they're way on here.

Ah of course. Just a few few weeks of dev time to build the same thing a multi-billion dollar company sells. Then after a few weeks of dev time you find out you're missing about 80% of the features that makes tableau useful. After that

Thats definitely the wrong read. This is a direct competitor to Microsoft's PowerBI. Google will need Looker to get large enterprise data management deals on Google Cloud.

Getting a major record company to just follow through on the payment of a clearly contracted project is a hassle on its own. It's like they just want to weed out paying any musicians who can't afford to have a lawyer follow up.

Spark is NOT hadoop. You don't even need hadoop for spark anymore. Spark is more or less completely independent from the hadoop ecosystem. Just because they're compatible doesn't mean they're synonymous. You can use spar
