Why are you fighting the wind(ows)mills? Linux desktop is in it best shape since its inception. Mint (doesn't siphon), Ubuntu (siphons responsibly) or Manjaro (if you miss rolling updates, but for humans)... Why suffer needlessly?

The next step here is to ask Google to have an API that, when plugged in and password is entered - just downloads and "verifies" your data for compliance. Bit by bit all the freedoms will be eroded.

It also hijacks space button. I usually use it to pgdn, but in FreshRSS it opens currently selected article. Please make the keyboard shortcuts configurable, especially if you are changing the standard ones.

You can't seamlessly use native RSS app across your home, work computers and mobile. P.S.: It uses fairly standard LAMP stack. Put it in a docker or qemu if you don't want to "pollute" your machine.
