As long as your browser leaks the list of available plugins and fonts, you're not incognito. An alternative I'd like to see is a standard somewhat fixed small set of plugins and fonts.

This list lacks a feature that Go has and without which I wouldn't even have considered it : native and complete UTF-8 support.

Yep. Des fois ça marche. Mais c'est sûr que c'est plus dur... Faut dire, les startups, içi, ça fait un peu alien. Et encore, je dis içi... Depuis que j'ai émigré à Lyon, je n'espère même plus en voir près de moi...

Looks similar to scm breeze : https://github.com/ndbroadbent/scm_breeze But scm breeze (which I use every days) seems much more powerful.

The last point should be stronger : Unicode manipulation is complex. Some things that may appear trivial, like comparing two strings in a case independant way, aren't at all. A developper who makes its fast conversion function is simply add

It's hard to really track, define (or even understand) the consumed time on innovative projects. Because time is not the essence. When I make something really new, I don't consume time, I consume a mix of energy, enthusiasm, slowly built mi

Am I wrong or does it mean that TileMill, while impressive, lacks an essential feature ?

OK, I understand. As a side note, I send my PNG when needed in JSON (larger, with base64 encoding, I didn't try to make a comparison with ASCII art format) and I find that with getImageData getting the indexed colors is fast and easy. I was

Yes, because if somebody could make a select from the databases, chances are that he could also get the software used for deciphering.

Thanks. It's fast. Your demo displays one problem : the strange choice of labels. For example, look for France's capital at zoom 8. You'll see a lot of small towns indicated but not Paris. And I can reproduce this for a lot of notable towns

Why use a grid of characters and not a grid of pixels (with indexed values that can be linked to the properties just like UTFGrid links chars to properties) ? I use this kind of pixel grid which brings those advantages, especially for very

Maybe it's for performance reasons. I have a web server in go that generate (big) png on the fly and most of the time is spent in the png encoding (mostly the compression). PNG encoding is a heavy task. Here's (from my blog) a pprof profile
