F-Zero GX I still play quite often (agonisingly badly, but at the moment I'm still a bit better at it than my kids are). I'd love to see another F-Zero. Also of course the two excellent Zelda games. What a fab console.

In my experience, trackpads that feel weird and unresponsive in Windows can be fine when running Linux. I think it's the OS and the drivers as much as the hardware. The Yoga I'm typing this on (with Linux) has the best trackpad I&

Ah of course, that is quite widely used (e.g. Perl). If you already have that, I can see why you'd reuse the same token. (edit: ok, I see from other replies that it's not that simple)

Good question, not one I have any tidy answer for. The fact that we have so many "more traditional" genres in the first place is a result of some progress or invention having happened in the past. Why should it stop? Novelty is so

I like the theory (which I think I associate with Ambrose Field) that we recently came out of a period in which invention in music was tightly associated with technological capability. Most apparent in pop where, for example, each new wave

I love the way this discussion has divided neatly into thirds: history of ringbuffers; digression on shoelaces; fragmentary, widely ignored, replies about everything else (this one included, I'm sure). I like this kind of article and e

It's impossible to please everyone with rotary controls. If I read you correctly, you're asking for them to be controlled by actual rotary movement of the mouse. Many people dislike that (and I'm one of them) because it'

Agreed on the Lumia 620, which despite its cheap materials was a lovely design. Perfect size, nice to hold, and the dual-layer back covers were fab.

My driving instructor (in the UK) came from Sweden. He thought automatics were much safer and reckoned everyone should drive one, especially in the city, but he didn't like teaching them because they were so boring.

I set out to try the Desktop App Converter with some of my own apps the other day, on a laptop that had just been updated with the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Trouble was, the laptop had Windows 10 Home Edition on it and the Desktop App

Doesn't seem to exist, sadly, Android or otherwise. There are no good phones of that size any more and I can see no hint that any company will ever make one again. I have a Sony Xperia Z5 Compact. This is often recommended to people as

Apropos of not much, I like the venerable Beyer DT250 for everyday use -- they're similar to the DT150 studio cans but with a velour kind of finish, that makes them comfier at home but not so suitable for passing around in the studio.
