I guess my issue is figuring out where the value is? There are legal procedures for anything important (eg. financial accounts). You don't need the password, you just go through the legal frameworks that have been set up for years. Alm

Twitter penalizes links. If you post a tweet with a link only a fraction of the people will see it compared to a twitter thread. They much prefer people stay on platform. It's not just Twitter doing this - all social networks prefer yo

I guess this might be hard to believe, but lots of people DO like it. It just depends on what kind of person you are. Eg. lots of people love those forced team building things. Different people like different things. For a large company tho

"I use Authy for MFA, which comes with a desktop app" Fantastic. A lot of banks (at least here in Canada) ONLY have text or phone call for 2FA (which is awful, but welcome to banking).

While this certainly gets into semantics, I don't think you need a "blog" but a website can help a lot. I wrote about why most smaller companies don't need a blog here: https://kolemcrae.com/notebook/

Yup - private companies/app makers can do as they please. You consented to them doing as they wish. The choice is simple, if you don't like it, just stop using the app. There are probably tons of alternatives.

I thought this was building up to: here is who it's NOT good for and how to help them. But it doesn't. It just says it's great for everyone. Which it obviously isn't... It's good for some, horrible for others.

I am actually working on a book for exactly this - I consult with start up founders all the time on their marketing and there is a TON of misinformation for them to deal with on top of the fear talked about here and a host of other issues.
