I did evals of most of the popular ones for my company and my opinion is OrbStack is best performance and most reliable. The Kubernetes integration is also very nice and resetting it takes about ~10s in case you get in a pickle.

The reciprocal relationship between speakers and audiences is well documented in rhetorical studies. The example of Hitler's development as a speaker is discussed in Ian Kershaw's biography "Hitler: 1889-1936 Hubris." Ac

I went to school about 20 years ago and we had staggered online registrations. Surprised the best solutions haven't propagated further.

Good points. Social reinforcement could play a role as well, e.g. is it frowned upon to engage in certain consumer behaviors.

Sure, but as OP said, consumers are short sighted. Communal issues will always be secondary to immediate personal issues.

Yes! I'm much more inclined to write one-off scripts for short manual tasks as I can usually get AI to get something useful very fast. For example, last week I worked with Claude to write a script to get a sense of how many PRs my comp

This is pretty exciting. I'm a copilot user at work, but also have access to Claude. I'm more inclined to use Claude for difficult coding problems or to review my work as I've just grown more confident in its abilities over t

I wonder if it would be a reasonable requirement of registrars to now allow domains to be purchased if they are some edit distance away from existing/active domains. Its fine if Google wants to protect its users, but ideally this would

For folks in the networking space, differentiating between L4 and L7 proxies is pretty important. And while you could call it an HTTP proxy in many circumstances, some proxies support other protocols e.g a mysql proxy.

Information density is studied in linguistics. It could likely apply to programming languages similarly.

seems reasonable to add an initial cost burden to the filer then, to pay for the review, especially if they are filing a lot of suits. Say first 10 suits per year are free, but then you need to get on the premium plan :D

Great examples. I think another case, especially in business/it, is that the people doing the purchasing aren't often the people using the products. This means the incentive structure often doesn't prioritize a good product,

If you want to scale out, you need to have other be responsible for chunks of the operation. And they won't be responsible unless they have autonomy. This doesn't mean 100% free reign, but it does mean giving up a certain amount o

I 100% agree that it is. Which is why democratic institutions must be protected at all costs. Imagine if these kinds of people had unilateral control over something even remotely more powerful than they already do.

I suspect, at least in part, that Peter says this (along with using "we" with respect to Mark's actions) as a way to subtly gain influence over him.

Agreed. Any complex ideas (not that these ideas are that) are done a service by fleshing out completely in long form writing. Video also works well, but has significant overhead. Conversations are good for exploration of ideas and aligning

I find them shallow because the conversations are purely based on how they want to be perceived and lack any ideas into how things ought to be. Which I imagine the founding fathers correspondence was rich with.

Workers transit through units when mining, but thats the only unique behavior I think. I'm not positive though.

The mechanics of spider mines is they "hit anything that touches the ground". There are several units they don't hit such as all workers, vultures themselves, archons etc... This is all because those units "float".

They are probably referring to: 1. Infinite unit selection (SC1/BW were capped at 12, this is doubly important for buildings). 2. Rally workers directly to mineral patches 3. Smart cast for spells (pairs with #1 to allow you to cast sp

Unlikely to double. The low level API exposes all capabilities, the high level API exposes a subset of those capabilities under a smaller surface. The high level API will not be as large as the low level.
