I remember reading on here that the breakup fee is only applicable in very narrow cases, basically only if the US govt blocks the deal. If it's not applicable then he's on the hook for the whole ~40billy. Does he still come out ah

Central bank interest rates are negative but consumer savings accounts are not negative. A quick google search shows that savings accounts are offering either zero or nominally positive rates (0.02%). I agree that interest rates are super l

Putting money under the mattress is an awful outcome. If people want to save then they should put their money in to a _bank account_ where they can earn interest and their money can be put to use productively. Not only does this mean they’l

I feel like react-rails ( https://github.com/reactjs/react-rails ) is basically perfect for this. You just make the photo upload its own react component and render it as normal from your rails view. You basically encapsu

They didn't "learn", SpiceDAO was just a straight up scam. They raised like $8m dollars, spent $3m on a book, (100x expected auction value) and then decided to pay themselves $30k a month from the remaining proceeds and presu

Overly pedantic but I think i^i is actually not well-defined (and in general exponentiation of complex numbers is not well defined) since e^(2 * pi * i) = 1 so for instance we would have i = e^(0.5 * pi * i) = e^(2.5 * pi * i) and then i^i

The restrictions are: no reference types, manually manage your memory. My previous job was basically writing loads of burst code and it was so ergonomic and fun to write, and (as the GP says) you basically get 200x speed up for free.
