And regarding their website at that, not their products. A cursory look at the products on both companies websites doesn't show any obvious copying of products designs. And if killspenser thinks they own the idea of a top navigation bar...

Yeah, I'm thinking for simple temp control a TI launchpad MSP430 would suffice and at a mere $4.30 for the micro-controller better for the budget.

My G+ feed is noisy as hell. But I have a crapload of people with similar interests circled. Hundred of homebrewers and beer geeks in general. Another circle of photographers.

Looks like the EPUB version was perhaps done hastily. Doesn't even have the correct cover image.

Fair enough, but there are at least some point of sale systems that have NFC already, I have yet to see a system that is set up to display a barcode for the phone to read and then read a barcode on the phone (without moving the phone).

You are born with the rights to your soul, otherwise you wouldn't be able to contractually give it up.

I use it for everything from my morning beverage to putting gas in the car. If it isn't important to you then that's cool but don't assume your opinion extends to all of us.

Well, to be fair, NFC is capable of two way communication where scanning a barcode is one way communication. You are comparing galaxies to apples ;) As an android (GS3) user I would have liked the iPhone to get NFC (and NFC based mobile pay

IIRC, If you are under 26,001 Lbs GVW you don't legally need a CDL (unless Hazmat). Some carriers like UPS/FedEX may require a CDL anyway, but that is a company policy.

I'm not really thinking FedEX or UPS, I'm thinking of the driver for Reinhart food services delivering food to my son's school. That is a Semi-truck backed into a very small parking lot and he has to hustle a dozen or more two wheel hand tr

I'm pretty sure that long-haul truckers are well under half the truck driving profession. Pay attention to the number of semi-trucks delivering food and other products to schools / restaurants / convenience stores etc. Oh and those drivers

Well said. I personally get a great deal of satisfaction tinkering with my car (or brewing my own beer) even though if I could put those hours to productive use I could earn more money than it would cost to pay for the repairs (or beer). Ev

Seems like I have heard this story before. Some local re-seller of Visa products/services (Visa is in employee benefits???) being overly aggressive is what it turned out to be. If I had time I'd do some more searching for similar stories.

Somewhere else I read that they were not formal DMCA requests, more like his ISP got flooded with a lot of informal "fix this or we'll sue" notices. The ISP told the guy he could get his site back if he personally responded to the hundreds

Yeah, when he first took over LendInk he was an Amazon affiliate. So if a user ended up buying a book that they had borrowed but didn't finish he made a little coin. Once Amazon severed it's affiliate links in California he lost that. Even

Since the host was getting hundreds of take down notices I suspect that somewhere on the not disclosed list were in fact publishers. I'm willing to take that assumption on faith unless you have a copy of the list and there are no publishers

There is technology behind it, Amazon only lets you lend book once and only to one person. You can't read the book while the person you lent it to is reading it. The lend period expires in 14 days. So the lending is pretty limited compared

I always liked "Write code as if the next person who has to maintain it is a sociopath who knows where you live". Simplicity, Brevity, Elegance fits in that overarching ideal nicely.
