I wouldn't worry so much about #2 unless the market is extremely small or you're looking to raise money or your only vision of success is a giant company. Most markets with existing companies serving them are big enough to support

If you do not have insurance, then most medical bills will be discounted. However if you have insurance, they won't give you a discount beyond what the insurance company negotiated. I'm part of a healthshare, which isn't

There's a lot of "bad" that can occur on smartphones beyond companies selling user data. While that should be a concern, I'd guess other things are more important to most parents.

Apple has a bad track record with parental control and other "be safe online" apps, crippling them in the name of privacy. I'd never recommend an iPhone for a child.

S3 supports metadata (see https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonS3/latest/user-guide/add-o... ). Perhaps I don't understand what you're saying fully though--as I don't fully understand your comment.

While this article points out there are still opportunities for a malicious actor to gain access to the private keys stored locally in the browser, wouldn't that still be an improvement over only using https and server side encryption?

I'm not sure what exactly is meant by BAAS (I get backend as a service... but that seems quite vague to me). I don't have experience with firebase, but I have used serverless on AWS API Gateway / Lambda with AWS Cognito for

You're missing the role of agency (or choice) in your evaluation. Forcing someone to do something vs someone choosing to do it of their own accord is quite different.
