I suppose my point was that iOS keeps things reasonably simply--they have a swipe-down notifications window now, you can scan back and forth through home-screen panels and you can access your apps list. ICS now has the home-screen x666 pane

You're right, any sloppy user can make a mess of the iPhone interface. But as a mobile platform, the OS shouldnt promote sloppiness and with all its tabs and panels and pages in addition to all the physical buttons already present. The VM t

I've still found that running multiple applications starts to cause touch-events to go unnoticed, swiping to jump around, etc. But to your credit my experience may be a fault of the device rather than the OS itself. I know dalvik is a good

I've got to say, I've had high hope for ICS, both as a user and developer but this OS looks extremely disappointing. From a user perspective, the interface is super cluttered. Its like Windows, just a screen full of icons and battery-eating

My appologies, I didn't realize I was putting words in your mouth. I believe it was your post that called Android dev. a pain though, and unless I'm mistaken it was also you who referred to the emulator as an obstacle. Finally, I said all t

I couldn't agree more. Filling it out the first time we applied actually led us to the full developement of our business plan, right down to the design of the GUI and the financial metrics we would use. We now know exactly what is required

"Such a pain" as compared to what exactly? This will depend entirely on what it is that youre trying to do. In all my experience, Android is notoriously easy to develope on, being fully open-source the way it is. Try developing for iOS beyo

How critical is it to have a technical founder? and what constitutes technical? I've applied this year with a team but none of us are competent programmers. Thats not to say we're incompetent. Two of us have the beginner knowledge of univer

I don't own any apple products, nor am I aboard the Apple bandwagon per se, but I honestly don't think this claim is presumptuous at all. Apple currently IS the tablet market and its competitors are barely competing at all. Motorola's Xoom

One problem i could see though is that limiting your sharing to only certain social circles might be too limited for some people. The other day my roommate was upset that I couldn't see some of the pictures he'd been tagged in on FB becau

whether the startup is the goal or the means to a greater end doesn't really matter in the long run as far as I'm concerned. that daring to come up with some idea, any idea, and build a beta site is enough whether they think this is enoug

i agree wholeheartedly, especially about the self-mythologizing. Not only might a person be unaware of the steps leading to their own success, they might intentionally conceal those steps. I forget exactly where it was that I read it, but

Its described as a consolidated search engine so i dont think its fair to say that its "nothing" like Google. Different problems though, you're absolutely right. I suppose I was generalizing but I think you see my point.
