Serious question: How is it possible for AP reporter to know the nationality of the shooter? To be honest "AP cameraman shot during Gaza protest" is a more accurate and correct reporting by the reporter. Isn't it? I have no b

I agree with you on the "U.S.'s potential for emissions growth is just so much smaller". But my POV (as someone who spend 1/3 of my life in US and rest in India) is that US has huge potential to cut down on unnecessary e

Earth's atmosphere doesn't care about geo-political boundaries either Countries won't solve it. If Americans can own up to the fact that per capita reduction in co2 emissions by them, will have a huge effect on co2 emissions

I cannot take any of these reports seriously unless they are comparing emissions from each country on a per capita basis. This is an easy way to make US look like a responsible polluter compared to India and China. Its a different ball game

Question for South Koreans here: Is this real or is this report just the usual exaggeration by western media? Asking because Reuter’s has a biased reporting for anything related to India, and I’m wondering if they have a similar lens /

how so? Consumption won't go up proportionally to the drop in price of fuel. I see it as an antidote to the middle east conflict where the developed countries have a hand in it. If petro nations source of income is affected, there

Factor in the cost of a driver, and the $250K price tag will look super cheap if not sensible. Right now, rideshare companies keep ~40% of the ride revenue (not including vehicle payments). Which means, 60% goes to the driver. Now if you c

I meant, more than 50% include those who are ineligible to vote due to being under age, imprisonment or being an immigrant (legal and illegal). Giving a holiday is just an easy way for people to plan an extra long weekend.

why not rename Columbus day into something like "we seek forgiveness" day? how does it make sense to have November 6th as a holiday in a country where more than 50% people don't/can't vote?

I don’t know whether to agree or disagree with that. Fields that’s get affected negatively could be offered some kind of respite wrt quota. Eg a medical professional on h1 probably won’t be subject to quota.

As someone who has worked on H1b in US, I can understand what you are saying. Primary reason an H1b with a net hourly rate same as a US citizen is more attractive to hire, is because the costs of firing that employee are too low. Unlike a c

I agree with what Kerr is suggesting. It makes a lot of sense. I also agree with a many Americans who are anti-H1b that it suppresses wages, hence makes it attractive to higher foreign workers, quite often for jobs that are not truly state

I'm so happy for you that you are able to do this transition. I used to envy EB1s a lot (I'm from India, lived here in US for a good amount of time), then got to know what a hassle it is to go through the process, even after an I-

You mean if a H-1B immigrant's kid gets shot fatally in the next school shooting or a spouse is killed in a bar, "simply move back to India"? or do bullets fly only towards lower income people?

Toronto/Vancouver will become extremely attractive for those wanting to come up with startups, even for VCs to invest due to massive influx of high skilled immigrants, with valuable knowledge from US work experience.
