I thought Disney+ rollout would have no hiccups, because I thought Hotstar (I think it is mostly India based content) owned by Disney did quite well during the cricket world cup, in terms of live streaming (which I thought is more complex t

Two friends wanted to by a cheaper car, so their loan is now 66K? Looks like WSJ is skirting around the issue of subprime loans made to rideshare (Uber/Lyft) drivers. lost track of the number of unhappy uber/lyft drivers I have ch

Not saying whether they can build or not. Will they have enough demand? There's nothing like a Supercharger network to make people buy so many non TSLA electrics. So, how will VW have so much demand to create so much capacity?

Agreed they are larger. But, VW has lied proportionally more than Tesla.

how reliable are these projections? Replace VW with TSLA and the Tesla naysayers / TSLAQ will claim the company is doomed...

Very true. And I believe the same is true with conventional media "Newspaper / TV News Channel isn’t free speech, it’s non-algorithmic amplification optimized for outrage"

At times I feel, if there's no recycling programs, people will automatically buy cheap products with plastic because it'll guilt trip them into using less plastic. When a country like India is taking steps to ban single use plasti

My biggest issue with this documentary was how they glossed over CA's effect on Indian elections, and it's catastrophic failure in 2014 Indian general elections. The documentary even has a poster of the Congress Party of India, (n

Do you mean, replace just the nuclear with solar in 2 years, but keep the rest of the infra (Coal and other source of power generation) as is? If so, it can only mean exponentially more coal/gas power generation to supply power during

This is a win for Uber and Lyft. (wasn't Uber lobbying for this in all big cities?) Once it becomes the norm, Uber/Lyft can continue jacking up prices.

This settlement itself is a scam. It looks like a cunningly smart settlement announcement. Offer something that looks like a worthy settlement, drive millions of people to get the cash option, then claim that too many are going for the cash

I think the problem with people with lower income buying crappy food boils down to the infrastructure they can afford for their food purchases. If they rely on packaged food / edibles for everything, it’s probably because they don’t ev

after feeling the "buyers remorse" for every charitable act (small as $5 or large as $1K), I have given up on the concept of Charity. I either feed a person who is hungry, or I dont do any charity (other than volunteering to help)

True. Not disagreeing with that. But it was interesting to know the foundations of the transition being laid from day 1 with Nadella as CEO. The book is more like a little bit of a background of Nadella (his life in India and early days in

I kind of agree with your point. The way I foresee it is, if extracting every bit of value from manual labor becomes costly, for a business, that means comparatively the automation option is becoming cheaper. Subsidies / tax breaks etc

I don’t see anything wrong with this. Most of the warehouse operations will get automated soon. So it’s better (from the laborers’ perspective) to keep manual labor as efficient/profitable as possible, otherwise they’ll make it attrac

At what point did it become apparent that adding more pipeline stages to boost the GHz number wasn't going to help? Wast it at 180 or 90nm? Seriously asking, because just "xyz did N GHZ" makes no sense in this era.

I'm glad they don't. Philanthropy is a great way to undermine democracy and is often the way real, govt lead development projects stall. It's a nice facade for those who want to get things done without being an elected offici
