That's not exactly right. You're correct the ruling only upheld a preliminary injunction. Like you imply, that's a provisional remedy before trial, subject to change. But in practice the court is unlikely to change its views

The plaintiffs allege "more than" $15,000 in damages. The $15,000 figure is likely just a jurisdictional minimum. In other words, they need to allege damages over that amount in order to stay out of small claims court or something

Class action lawyer here and respectfully disagree. "Numerosity" of members is a class action prerequisite, but it's usually met if over 40 class members exist. In this huge (over 100m ppl), controversial settlement, well ove
