What is right today may not be tomorrow. It's not the case of "nobody actually thinking" for them to take in new information and make new decisions. It's just the opposite.

Though a can of coke wasn't $1.00 30 years ago, I might still be annoyed at a $1.00 prize for a $0.50 can. On the other hand, the story itself would be worth more than $0.50.

Apologies, but I’m having trouble with your response. It doesn’t seem to be related to the article or my comment. This article is all about creating “better” masks for general public usage in social situations. It seems to say that even wit

This article repeatedly mentions the main issue with masks right now, that they require widespread adoption and usage, while pretending “better masks” will somehow solve it.

Can they simply offer a “no ads/no bulk mail” USPS+ option? $5/month? I’d be happy to pay it. It would save a lot of processing costs and trees too. I’m not sure what they are making more than that off my mailbox per month now tho

Wearing a mask as a standard, non-healthcare working, citizen is about protecting everyone else. You are right though, you should protect yourself too, as much as possible.
