What I find completely amazing is that business's don't have adequate backups of their websites and information and are not able to move to another hosting provider and get set back up. I have multiple copies of my own personal websites in

In HTML 5 you can use the h1 element multiple times. For example, lets say you are writing an article article h1 h2 That is perfectly valid, now lets say you have an header that gets added before each article that contains so

Heading (h1) should not be qualified. Yes it should, especially if you are using HTML 5 and are using different heading sizes for different parts of your site... Otherwise an h1 in a header (tag) would look the same size as a h1 i

Cable Internet already provides more than enough bandwidth. There are been many times where my room mate and I are both streaming content from NetFlix, and our third room mate is watching Hulu in the living room. No issues with lag, or slow

If you do this in OS X animations are also slowed down. Hold shift and hit the dashboard button for a slow-mo animation.

Yet when I get a reset password email the exact same things happen... so for sites where that reset password is good enough it is also good enough to send auto login links.

You get data, but at EDGE (2G) speeds. Which is just fine for almost everything you'd want your phone to do. I am using my iPhone 3G on the T-Mobile network and it is not an issue at all =)

I am assuming you have ethernet running to both? Share the iTunes folder, copy it over the network, simple. How do you think the Lion migration is going to work?

My iPhone 3G currently runs iOS 4 without any issues. Overall it is at about the same speed as it was before on iOS 3. That being said, my iPad 2 is blazing fast and I can't wait to have the money saved up to upgrade.

On Unix systems you can replace files on disk without issues because of the way it does reference counting to the underlying file system. Unlike Windows where this is not possible. I am better there is still one single reboot to start up th

Hopefully that will get fixed. Generally the reason why the reboot is required is because WebKit gets updated and that is a library that is loaded into various different applications the best way to restart all of them is to reboot, with th

There is no-one at Apple that can sign the copyright for the blocks code over to the FSF and as such it will never happen. At least that was told on the mailing list for LLVM/Clang. I understand why the FSF wants copyright assignment, but i

I don't necessarily consider this a fight at all, I think each has their strengths and weaknesses. I much prefer the C++ method, however when programming in Objective-C using blocks just feels more natural.

I've flagged this post, mainly because the entire "article" contains absolutely nothing of substance. It is a fluff blog post that doesn't have anything new to say, doesn't provide anything for hackers to think about.

No, Apple drives don't fail at a disproportionately higher rate. They have the exact same failure rates as the rest of the industry since they use the same parts (with minor modifications apparently). I've had many hard drives fail. Just re
