Python gets more bloated weekly in my view.

I agree with your latter point on system design. I've had 'big data' interviews where the 'big data' fits in the memory of my desktop machine - so I'm going to give you a very different answer to your over-arch

Dependency injection in fastapi honestly feels like a horrible afterthought. Flask's g is much easier to reason about, and 99% of projects don't need the 'performance improvements' of async.

Yep, async is not even advantage in my view - especially if it requires writing code in certain special ways.

In what way is FastApi better than flask?

I've found it quite annoying, I'm considering going the other way for my personal project from Go+Templ+HTMX -> Flask + Jinja + HTMX. Still undecided though. I feel like Go is quite verbose and defining templates in Templ feels

I'm curious, why did you call out behaviour which goes against the guidelines, with behaviour that goes against the guidelines?

I once got a job for a company whose entire stack was aws lambda. Not like a normal 'hey we have this flask application which handles 100 endpoints and we just use lambda to handle a call' - more like 'every singe route or fu

They get to retrieve things but not constantly like I often see people doing. Eg throw ball with wanger [0], dog gets ball, person throws ball again ad infinitum. The constant thing is the key, we don’t let an unhealthy obsession develop is

We have a springer, cocker and a sprocker. We knew that addiction to these things were a problem and so we didn’t allow it to develop. I do think that people who are constantly throwing balls, especially with a wanger, are idiots.

The private industry incentive must be in rubbish removed though rather than expensive, overuning and overbudget contracts for useless space providers like Northrop & Boeing (who are having the floor mopped with them by SpaceX).

I’ve never found the M4 on my work machine particularly impressive. Frankly I hardly use the thing because it takes far, far too long to switch between windows compared to hyprland.

Research funding isn't a cash cow to keep universities financially viable, it should be used for genuine research. It all to often is not.

That is utterly hilarious. As if somehow the cloud enables autostave more capably than say, your ssd. Microsoft really is a shitshow.

What? It's much less effort to perform 'an evaluation' with an llm than actually do it. You are actually just weeding out 95% of real applicants.

Generally though Java error messages make more sense. I have been experiencing extreme pain picking through 200 lines of Typescript error output for what amounts to 4 instances of a type without a required property in the codebase.

If it's anything like hs2, we'll hire thousands of consultants on huge day rates who have zero incentive to ever build anything. Not an ideal model for open source funding.

Disingenuous. Get a visa. People act like they weren't able to live and work in Europe before the EU - people did it, it was fine, it's not that difficult if you actually want to do it.

I don't think it's individualism, perhaps that is the case for a small percentage of people. I think it's the fact that 2 workers per household (or family unit) is now common. More people working in general, generally, reduce

My kneejerk reaction to the headline is ‘why would it?’. It’s unsurprising to me that an AI company appears to have chosen exactly the wrong tool for the job.
