What's the expected final toolchain for C -> Wasm? If I understand correctly, there are at least two competing backends (upstream llvm, emscripten-fastcomp), as well as several paths through binaryen (s2wasm, asm2wasm)... and Binary

Technically, you always created an account when you used Persona. Sometimes with a password, sometimes without. Sometimes old passwords would come back to haunt you if your domain added and then removed support for BrowserID. Sometimes yo

Persona had grown into a gigantic, unmaintainable, big ball of mud. If I recall correctly, the ongoing operational expenses were in the very low 5-figures annually, but it was bitrotting, we weren't able to transition Persona to commun

I'm not sure it's a fundamental flaw: it's exactly identical to sending a confirmation email when a user signs up for a website, which is considered a best practice on the Web. If that works well enough for the Web at large

In the long run, authentication should be baked into browsers, and it seems like FIDO U2F is making decent strides in that arena. For right now, I think Portier hits a sweet spot for smaller sites without a lot of time or energy to put into
