If I am deploying an application with "deploy" (i.e. non-priviliged), it is ok to also run Unicorn as deploy? Or should it be run as nobody or www-data ?

How does the nginx fit in? Do you install an instance of nginx onto every single box? Or can you elect to use a web server box as your frontend nginx and proxy request back to a set of separate servers running instances of passenger?

There is nothing wrong with Bootstrapping subsequent projects using your last one. I just believe that there is so little value prop in this (if you are even moderately competent using Google) that I have a hard time seeing it succeed at $1
