Neither, it’s just usually not very interesting and there’s an endless stream of it from those sites for those who want it. It might be good for HN if it’s unusually clever, or makes an unexpected point, or something else that makes it stan

I've only really used state machines in TypeScript via xstate, and I've been meaning to try Rust for a while, so your comment interests me. Got any tips or advice on further reading or specific libs that you can recommend for work

I'd be curious to know some technical details on the deployment process, such as the byte size, how long it took to send, any unique challenges. It must be high stakes. Imagine if they accidentally bricked it with a bad update.

Similar backstory. Back when I used Rails as a young dev I remember loving it but thought it all felt a bit parochial somehow, like they didn’t really get where the web was going. Now I realise they were just not interested in hype and othe

No clearer. Are you saying that when recall “fills in the blanks” that’s not false memories? What can “false memories” possibly mean if not that?

“Generating what they believe to have occurred” sounds like another way of saying “false memory”. What am I missing?

I bought one of these a couple of years ago with plans to use it for macros, shortcuts etc, but gave up using it because I found the system for writing your own plugins and generally configuring it was beyond awful, it felt like a designed-

Sounds like you took the headline to mean "There's no concern about AI", but in fact it explicitly highlights an important concern for many: if you fail to keep up, you will lose your job. I am puzzled so many here seem to ha

Which was good advice, and I would argue still is. But even if you think it is no longer good advice, would you at least accept it was good advice for a very long time, leading to a lot of lucrative careers?

It seems like you took the headline to mean something like "You don't need to worry about losing your job because of AI". That would make sense if you only read the first half of it. But the second half completely changes the

The headline is a pithy statement that those who ignore AI will be left behind, just as those who ignore automation were left behind. I don't think it means what you seem to think it means.

I happen to generally agree with you on the policies, but comments like this make it much more difficult. It’s intellectually shameful to assert up front that anyone who disagrees with your prescription for society must be just pretending.

I have bought almost exclusively LED bulbs over the last 10-15 years. As a nerd, I always look fairly carefully at the specs, and I choose good ones. If, when I buy off-brand halogens one time without really looking into the technical detai

I guess you can't tell the difference? For me it's huge. I recently changed my bathroom downlights from dimmable LEDs to dimmable halogens, and it's so much nicer. The colour temperature was the same, so I guess it's not
