I agree, but why not keep the loading structure, with just an option to collapse individual threads, having them opened by default. So, the experience doesn't change for users that wish to avoid collapsable trees, but gives the option

I just started using Blur by Abine, which allows something similar. (Basically, you can fund prepaid cards to use on sites rather than giving out your real card) not an outright endorsement. I haven't used them for long enough to give

One of the most interesting things about this, to me at least, is while the median was on the lower end, the upper echelon of respondents were high enough to significantly skew the mean upwards significantly.
