It's also highly suspect. 240k photos is 66 photos per day, every day, over a full decade. If you're spending time taking 66 photos a day, I think you have bigger (personal) issues to contend with than your image storage solution.

This whole thing is so weird. Why do so many organizations depend on the internet to function? It wasn't too long ago that it was standard practice to vendor your dependencies; that is, dump your dependencies into a vendor/ dire

One of the most insane things I hear repeated constantly is that "servers are cheaper than programmers", implying that runtime efficiency doesn't matter, only developer efficiency. Which is all well and good, until you need t

This would be a fair argument if Scott was literally sitting in the newsroom or on the newsroom Slack going on racist tirades, making the employees uncomfortable. But he's syndicated. The Plain Dealer doesn't "work with"

What? Merely existing on the playground, on the field, or in the cafeteria in the 80s and 90s reinforced the idea that being different was bad. How is this unique to post-2012? At least Instagram doesn't hold you up against a chain-l

It's truly insane to see. HN has been filled, for the last decade, with stories and advice about hopping jobs every two years to garner 20-40% pay increases, completely oblivious to the bubble that was SO OBVIOUS to some of us. Armies

A cursory look at the way DEI policies are applied shows the claimed justification to be a blatant lie. If we were actually concerned about tipping the scales properly based on actual income data, white men would not be the primary target
