This is silliness. I Win+R, mspaint at least 10 times a day. I paste in screenshots and quickly cut out just a portion of them. Or leave the screenshot there for later review. Why don't they just remove the file browser? Or how about m

Just a comment overall, I bookmarked the site and think it's great. Is it a good idea to present a site that compiles and runs code on a remote server to a site dedicated to hackers? :)

Genuinely curious, as HTTPS is something I do not fully understand even with this simplification: If the browser's symmetric key is encrypted with icicibank's public key, why can't a sniffer unlock it by also requesting icici

So I googled "And a Pony" and it looks like one of the first uses of it is from a coding horror page in 2006 where the guy is asking all websites to scale down properly for a phone and then scale up properly for a desktop. He'

During the last election cycle I stripped all of my online social media of any real life references. Except for my name on Facebook and my LinkedIn account, which I never use for non-work stuff or private opinions. Definitely doesn't m

1. Does the code do what it's supposed to do, without crashing or causing unwanted side-effects? 2. Is the code relatively readable by someone unfamiliar with the problem? If 1 && 2 then stop tearing your robes like Pharisees a

This article seems to be stretching to find reasons for its existence. I am willing to accept that I may be blinded by my own income/position. But it makes wild accusations and the backup feels very thin. I also disagree that a "m

The use of the word illegal is unpopular in the US because it is politically incorrect to refer to a "person" and not an "action" as illegal. There are all kinds of politics involved: identity, race, and the belief that

Rust-ignorant here; I was reading your "why rust" section. It contains a lot of information about how safe the resulting code is and how that is such a great benefit, and that's why Rust was selected. But then it has this sta

When there's that much VC money on the line, breaking the rules gets you a meeting with Tim Cook.

See? There are people who actually know and fully understood all this stuff and then there are guys like me who just played with the numbers until it worked. :) I applaud you

I believe you would like this github.com project. https://github.com/eliangcs/pystock-data Edit: I just noticed the owner has decided to stop maintaining the repo just a few days ago. But you can reproduce it using the

These workers are not required to work for the public. But public workers do have a duty to work in the most efficient method possible for the public. If that means no pension or less pension, that is the deal. I don't support pulling

I liked the article and agree with its premise. But as a side question, why do developers use so many parenthetical expressions? Those ideas (like this one, which happens to add nothing) are often either throwaway statements (like this one)

I suppose I was commenting more on the reasonableness of the existence of a limit rather than the reasonableness of a given limit.

A 3-inch blade length restriction is reasonable. For instance, it was illegal until 2014 in my state to carry a blade longer than 4 inches. (There is now no limit.) During the majority of my life that it was illegal to have a longer blade,

I am now very sad, thanks. My little four year old son is asleep in the bed next to me, and I've been working since 3am. I can't let it stay like that.
