There's a lot of interesting things indeed! They achieve a nice blur effect, even though I suppose it would be way too heave for mobile.

Hmm, I've tried something like that (although not as elaborate), but it really was sluggish... It may work but I think you should at least need an iPhone 4S or 5.

I've actually designed it with a Phonegap integration in mind, to be honest. I think it's possible but you'd probably have to add a great deal of complexity to the code. I'm not familiar with Backbone.js, but may be you

Yes, I've seen it an a few others demos. But the difficulty here is to make the content blurred while it scrolls. It's extremely smooth on iOS 7 beta and I can't see anyway to reproduce properly in HTML without severely compr

I'm sorry, but 6000€ is way too expensive. I really think there is a market for a not-too-expensive electric small vehicle (with two or four wheels). But it really should be under 4000€. In France, Renault sells the Twizy, a two-seater

I don't think missing the Internet revolution was their biggest mistake. If you look at Apple they focused on hardware. What Microsoft could have done too. Instead, they just tried to continue this Windows monopoly and overlooked every

I'm skeptical about Microsoft recovering. They clearly missed the mobile revolution. But let's hope they'll be able to tackle directly the next challenges (wearable computing, etc.)

Very good article, I think it got everything right. It's a well-known fact that fear always leads to dark outcomes for democracy (it's been very well covered through many films and books, from Yoda to Orwell :p). Yet, for the firs

I agree, I was talking about the desktop version. I just wanted to say that the so-called "ugliness" of HN's design has nothing to do with the fact it's not convenient on mobile.

I think this "ugly design" as you say is resistant because it is a good design. It's functionnal and as such, I don't see any reason why it should change. A good design is a design we can read easily and use easily. For

I agree with you: I don't like flashy design. Yet what troubles me with this car is its doors. It's impossible to get in or out with such doors and such a tall vehicule if you're in a parking lot with a low roof.
