Really throws the future of Hulu in doubt. If the big three media companies are no longer part owners, and they already see Hulu as undermining and upsetting their traditional partners, what incentive do they have to continue providing free

SFBay average is about 76K: http://www.bayareacensus.ca.gov/bayarea.htm Equating 86K a year to penniless is a statement very very far removed from reality.

The FUD "defaulting" means they won't pay you back. The real "defaulting" in this case means they will restructure the debt. It is a credit agency's definition of "default", but it won't be as adverse as the money disappearing from balance

Except most of the banks have paid back TARP. Most major banks are back to 10+ % profit margins (only one lower I found was BAC). Out of the 700 billion TARP fund, only 51 billion remains outstanding (as of September last year), which is la

I've never heard any claims that the 41 billion will just disappear. The worst I've heard is that they will restructure the loans to extend pay back dates. Also, from the article, the banks have a drop in the bucket exposure to these loans,

Seems a little high on the fear mongering and a little light on the details. I fail to see how a Greece debt restructuring would negatively impact the US economy except to cause a little more fear on wall street. Also - anyone else notice t

First off, the global warming debate is not just about temperatures. It is also about resource use, pollution, waste, contamination of environments, etc. Secondly, the effect of this 'mini ice age' will last a scant 10 or so years. Call m

I don't think that's surprising is it? Silicon Valley is known to be the best place for VC in the world. I'm sure if you draw arbitrary lines around the hottest investment communities in Israel the numbers would also be much more even. That

For companies like Linked In with tiny earnings a sky high multiple might make sense. They only have one or two quarters of profitable business in. But for companies like Netflix and Amazon, who have sustained growth, revenue, earnings, and

To be honest I'm not an expert. In my opinion Netflix feels overvalued to me. Maybe not based on the P/E but it certainly doesn't seem like a 15 billion dollar company to me.

It's not a bubble because there's only a handful of companies which are trading at values which I would consider to be excessive for the underlying business. Netflix, Salesforce, Tesla, LinkedIn, and potentially Facebook/GroupOn. Almost eve

Here's another quote from the page: "In particular, it does not require e-mailers to get permission before they send marketing messages" Can you point to a single case where someone did what AirBNB did and got a conviction? Also, violating

Nothing AirBNB did was illegal or immoral. The most you can say about what they did was that it was mildly annoying.

All companies take risks, including Microsoft and Amazon. I could argue Microsoft has taken numerous more high profile risks then Facebook has. Beacon vs. Zune, Facebook Messaging vs. Microsoft Communicator. There is nothing special about t

I agree the 'attaboy' comments are way out of place, but there is also an over the top reaction the other way with the criticism being heaped onto the AirBNB guys in my opinion. It was technically wrong of them to leverage craigslist by cir

I expected disagreement, but didn't expect it would be so strong as to lead to down votes without discussion. I am not trying to 'troll' anyone here, but I think if you look at the truly innovative business processes, technologies, and shee

Personally I think the claims of Apple's innovation are way overblown. They aren't innovators, they are generally executors. They execute very well, and market very well. The only innovation I can really find where they were truly leaders i
