Option D is hoping the mass social unrest will cause enough (of the right) people to die off or actively steering towards that. A final solution one might say.

Have you seen our warnings on cigarette packaging? Have you seen how cigarettes are sold in France? No branding. Graphic warnings. Same font imposed on all brands. No wonder all the cool kids are switching to e-cigs. This will most certainl

I was involved in building an app that tracks driving behavior for an insurance company. Of course live location data and names are logged in plaintext for all customers.

Are there any good (discrete) wireless throat mic patches out there that are sensitive enough to pick up subvocalization / whispering?

I actually think it’s more likely that geo-engineering will be started by wealthy individuals. Think about it: it’s the ultimate form of philantrophy! The ultimate ego boost for those who have it all.

We can absolutely stop it. But it requires a geo-engineering approach that still is too much of a taboo. Solar radiation management gives us a “pause” button that buys us time to get our shot together. Iron fertilization is another approach

That’s a terribly selfish way of thinking. It’s not just about you & your own life but about generations of life to come. We have been given the most amazing planet in the known universe and we’re going to kill millions of years of evol

We felt the same in the Peak District. Hot wind blowing. Then a little after the heatwave Peak it suddenly flipped to “cold, regular” wind. Surreal experience.

Really? Not something like Tails or Qubes? Am I too paranoid? I’m genuinely interested in learning about this. What am I supposed to use these days when I’m working on a project that would make me a target for state-level actors?

And yet this feels like it’s too little too late. If I’m likely to be the target of the kind of state-sponsored malware “lockdown mode” supposedly protects me from I shouldn’t have been using Apple products in the first place. Which begs th

I'm all in favor of "spend less / consume less / grow less / be more sustainable" ... trouble is: seems like most decision makers are not ... wildcat geoengineering is no longer a matter of if, but when.
