Thanks. The twitter API gives t.co links, so next step will be to crawl the sites/documents and get a little more data from them as well as purge the blogs which got past the filter. From there we can use 'do follow' links to let search eng

I have a backup on a USB, but updating that daily is a hassle hence why I used DropBox- their added 2 step auth was also a big bonus, but if I lose that file I'll have a hard time getting my passwords back.. As jpadvo said, I might look int

The API changes stated that they wanted all clients to look the same and to have a similar experience. Could this be a hint that they want to rule out 3rd party clients slowly but surely?

I would advise against going with a linux desktop to start with. Buy yourself a cheap 'Low End Box' -> lowendbox.com and get a feel for linux. Once you feel you can happily control a server, then install it as your desktop so you don't

Hey, the system currently only does USD since we're still in what we call our 'alpha stage'. The site is set up to work with with GBP, though that'll be something rolling with the next big update.
