I wouldn't be surprised. I have a gigabit connection and the contract specifically states that they guarantee a maximum throughput of 400Mbit at peak times.

I never really understood why IoT devices don't communicate via the power cable; at a guess it's because the hardware needed is too bulky or more expensive than wifi.

Yup, Home-Brew ISA Cards is a thing. There are people out there who have reverse engineered some to create clones, not only for ISA but for more modern buses too.

When I couldn't figure out how to change windows 10 to look like windows 98 I installed linux with a windows98 UI and haven't been happier. I still think Windows 3.1 was peak UI though ;)

On every dedicated box I keep a swap partition with an alert raised when its used beyond a certain threshold. For all VMS no-swap because as far as they are concerned disk = network. Then again anything above 80% memory utilisation and we b

Not having as much activity isn't in my opinion a bad thing. Its quality over quantity. I know when I visit lobste.rs that I am going to get a front page of decent content and I may even know or recognise the poster. Reddit has become

I was thinking the exact same thing as I have been porting some old terminal based games to the browser and having a decent looking terminal interface would really help with the immersion.
