Quality of beans and water in some order, followed by temperature and time, then grinder. Grab some 6 month old beans and brew them with metallic water at 85c, no grinder in the world will make that palatable. > adjustments of a few micr

I think this is an important insight. Some people don’t have much experience in making repeatable coffee, and whether you make the coffee well is more important than how good the grinder is.

I’ve double-blinded a burr hand grinder, electric blade spice grinder, and a fellow grinder. It’s pretty easy to tell, although it depends a bit on how well you make the coffee.

So you think that you know a lot about security but not only do you not know the difference between SIEM and SOAR you think that most security jobs aren’t dealing with incidents? Fascinating. It’s not an uncommon problem though I guess, I’v

That’s not what word salad means. Don’t worry, one day you’ll have the experience to understand that.

Every profession thinks this. Doctors, lawyers, plumbers, chefs, tour guides, carpenters. Some jobs are actually likely to be automated away, but most jobs have a last 5-10% that’s non-obvious and very hard to automate.

Most security jobs require almost no creativity or thought though, most of them are looking at the outputs of some commercially available AV/EDR/IDS in a commercially available SIEM/case management tool and doing the same thi

You should be aware that not everyone is doing this. Contrary to what you might see on infosec twitter, not everyone is a trench coat covered pile of raccoons.

Good point, cogently reasoned and well stated. I especially like all the extraordinary evidence you provided for your claim of inflation from 2008-2019. Thank you for your contribution to the conversation.

There is no evidence I’ve found to support that theory, can you cite a study that flying through the air at close to the speed of sound doesn’t brush GSR particles off the round?

Your suggestion is that the United States military unilaterally seize other countries vessels who have broken no laws? The British Admiralty of the 17th and 18th century would have absolutely loved you.

Yes, more thorough. Using a chemical test to look for an often invisible substance is an obvious step to take. Conversely, visually looking for that same substance and then saying it wasn’t there when you don’t see it is laughable.

That’s absurd, no it doesn’t. It refers to a combination of the 2011 defcon demo of eliciting a device to sync data by default and a fever-dream of getting code execution by abusing the USB stack. You’re thinking of BadUSB or OMGCable. 1) w

Code refers to computer code, sometimes called “shell code”. Execution refers to getting that code to run. They didn’t get anything unexpected to happen on the device. You really should read the paper, it’s a masterclass in making nothing s
