15-25 hours a week? What the heck were you doing? The cumulative fatigue had to be insane, and if you were chasing a goal, it'd be easy for that to get in your head. For me I find ~3 hours a week are what I need to feel good. As things

This is what mountain biking does for me. It's not hard, and it's pretty safe, but maintaining decent speed while navigating trails... it's a flow state. Heck, a week ago I did a 100 mile MTB race, with the goal of finishing

I get this all the time at work... We have somewhat large subnets for clients (I think /22 and /23, and something much larger for our VPN pools) so I'll not-infrequently get "client has wrong IP address" things beca

In my day job I do a lot of troubleshooting. That's most of my job... helping other IT folks figure out what the heck is happening with something. I'd say that in 70% of things I work on, part of that time is figuring out what con

The article says this. It wraps up with: "If these problems can be overcome, you could use renewable electricity to produce iron, store it as long as necessary, transport it there and then burn it for power when needed, says Bergthorso

I use OsmAnd myself, and my main recommendation for folks is to use Gaia because it's... easier and less nerd knobby. But where OSM falls short is in tagging of mountain bike trails. Missing tags, no visualizers for contextual data lik

When it gets really fun is when Trailforks is wrong... I'm trying to get that fixed with a State Rec Area in northern Michigan. Trailforks was drawn, years ago, with the old/unofficial/local names of a bunch of bandit trails.

Some smaller bands used this to record audio in 90s home studios because it was really cost effective. I believe Fektion Fekler [1] used this for their album From Here To Heaven. [1] https://www.discogs.com/artist/53935

Yep -- watching cycling stuff is insanely hard. And I can't help but believe this is one of the reasons competitive amateur cycling is dying as well. People like to do what they watch the pros do, but when it's so hard... I don&#x

This is a great article and really illustrates just how hard Windows works to be backwards compatible. Lots of these (eg: the COM/LPT stuff) could be dropped and wouldn't affect most people either way, but for those things dependi

Not to take away from this thread, but here's a fun project I did a few years ago to make a SD based external floppy emulator for Ataris like the 800XL: https://nuxx.net/wiki_archive/A/SDrive_NUXX I reused an

Welcome to the age-old conversation which can well be analog'd as why would someone leave the front door of their house open if they didn't want you walking in? Or checking door knobs?

Thanks! I'll give that a look. I agree it's very reasonable to have highly zoomed small area stuff, I just seem to be missing the gap between the OSM data and the tiles. I'll give that a read, thank you!

Thanks, but that's the problem, the data downloads they offer are not zoomed enough. So I want to know how to go closer. This presumes you already have tiles.

Cornering and braking does wear the front tire, and it is more notable when mountain biking where cornering tends to be more forceful and the tire knobs concentrate forces on more noticeable parts of the tire.

Do any of you know if this has Dolby AC-4 support? Ticket 8349 [1] has been open for years to add this, but it's not there yet. This would be very nice so we can watch ATSC 3.0 OTA broadcasts via FFmpeg-based things like Plex. (Current
