I came here to mention this specifically. I'd love, love, love access to it, but they won't even let fairly close partners have access. :\

Hmm, interesting. No I didn't... I'll poke with this and maybe open a Premier ticket on it.

Instead of Filemon I'd suggest firing up Process Monitor [1] with a filter of "path contains system32\drivers\etc\hosts" and then Filter -> Drop Filtered Events. Let this run while you go about your normal work, then check

I learned to type with speed by playing Police Quest when quite young, and developed a quite quick, but interesting style where I never use my thumbs. I tend to cover roughly 2/3 of the keyboard (the left side) using my left hand, and

In case you aren't aware, Strava has switched to OSM for its maps which is pretty darn handy. (It's also knowing that all of the local MTB trails that I've surveyed / mapped are now properly on Strava.)

Sorry, but in this case I'm not talking about public (eg: gov't, et al) data sources. For most of the MTB trail guides out there (eg: MTB Project, Trail Forks) they ask users to submit trail data then they keep it locked up. I

This isn't super-detailed (it's more a framework) but here is my general mapping workflow: https://nuxx.net/blog/2012/06/05/mtb-trail-mapping-workflow-... The end goal for this is printable PDF

One thing that I've found really helps with this is saying that OSM is "like Wikipedia for maps". These days most people understand what Wikipedia is, how it works, and trust the content. OSM really is like a cartographic Wik

I do a lot of mountain bike trail mapping work using OpenStreetMap, and it's really bugged me that more public-service mapping projects (eg: MTB Project) don't build on OSM. They all tend to instead build their own mapping set whi

The Nike system was a last line of defense against bomber formations. The main idea near the end of the program was to set off a surface-to-air nuke in the middle of a formation and take it out. (Yes, that means near the population centers

Seeing this again takes me back. After reading this a number of years ago (2002 or 2003 or so?) I actually gave my first effort to trying to lose some weight and get in better shape, which caused me to learn / figure out a bunch more,

I'd love to see a tool that allows one to input ingredients and see flavor overlaps. It'd be really interesting to use this with one's favorite foods and use it to build recommendations for others.

With all of the recent layoffs that HP has had, I'm glad I'm no longer there. Working directly for GM feels considerably more secure than HP ever did. As others have said, I suspect it was an easy way to shed a bunch of employees

Many of these were transitions from other firms. For example, I am part of this 8000, and I, along with many peers, were hired from HP to (at first) do the same job as before, but for GM. We had previously been contractors or part of HP Ent

So... Changing the MTU didn't help. Even at the minimum of 1200 I still had issues. Sometimes pings (even small 60 byte ones) would be fast, other times they'd be upwards of one second. Not sure what's going on yet, as I'
