You had a 3d monitor for gaming. You need a high refresh rate for 3d with shutterglasses since you only get half or it for each eye. Office work benefitted in the CRT time when <85Hz would cause perceptible flickering giving you a headac

True, but most of the time you don't need a full Java SE stack. Android still has only a Java subset and that hasn't stopped people from writing apps for it.

You don't need a JVM to run Java code in the browser since there's a VM already. There's TeaVM which compiles Java bytecode to WASM.

Most monitors don't support more than 60Hz, so 120Hz is still is bit iffy sometimes. Apple can't help some monitor vendors take their time to get their stuff together. None of the 64 bits versions of Windows run 16 bits code. And

Trustworthy software is badly needed. Maybe you can disconnect the mic & camera, but since most modern audio chips are programmable it's possible to 'listen' to the speakers (think about it: a speaker is sort of a microph

At least there's only 1 browser to fix on iOS. Where's the value of everyone switching to Google Chrome like I see with most Mac users? (except for Google and people who need support for some obscure CSS option immediately)

IMO any stateful server-side framework is in trouble nowadays since scaling them involves passing this state around which is a headache compared to current REST/GraphQL backend + Javascript framework stacks. Oracle seems to keep peddli

Craft breweries don't help, but home brewing does. Craft breweries are what happens when home brewing is successful. Thought you meant 4 breweries from Norway... seemed a bit of a low estimate ;)

Seems more a case of dutch/english spelling mixup of the word 'saint' (sint=saint). The Sint Sixtus abbey is located in the town of Westvleteren. There are a few 'Westvleteren' beers, the most famous is the Westvlet

It depends on what you're trying to do. Front-end Java (applets/webstart) is dead. But on the server, or even some embedded devices, Java is working fine. I'd like to ask 'why not' - Java is supported, fast enough f
