Is your problem it couldn't be fixed or that you needed Apple to fix it?

Yes, you can run into that kind of stuff when configuring stuff like accent insensitive search. Most people just wrap the unstable function in a 'stable' wrapper which means you will have to reindex after an incompatible glibc upd

I guess that line of thinking continues. Lots of companies don't run their own PostgreSQL, they let Google/Amazon/Microsoft manage it for them.

Depends on what your definition of 'CDC out of the box' is. As a 'side effect' of replication, PostgreSQL supports subscribing on change data. What you do with those changes is up to you. There are tools that make it eas

On macOS 4K displays are fine. Not the best, but fine. I think the display resolution market suffers from some opposing directions: people who do productivity work like high resolutions, but since Windows (majority of the market) still seem

Is it macOS or the monitor not being responsive? Also, if it's slow your laptop might be too old to properly support 4K or you might have misconfigured something. At least Dell supports their hardware: have you tried updating the monit

"Retina" Macs were introduced 12 years ago. So what should Apple do? Expend serious time and engineering effort to fix problems with hardware that's far behind the times? Nobody's calling for the return of MCGA graphics

Linux can be consistent if you reject all but applications built in your desktops toolkit of choice. Which means you're missing out on a lot of applications.

It's an issue for plugins 'protected' by the iLok DRM system. It's probably not macOS, but incorrect code that accidentally worked in the past. Seems similar to the JVM situation.

Strange. I've got the complete opposite experience. Most displays work fine. It helps if you stick with models that advertise at least a bit of macOS support (like some Dells or Samsungs). Docker sucks, but there's Orbstack. I don

I'm running an Eclipse development environment that's regularly compiling a huge codebase. Had 2 crashes this week after updating so less than once a day. That's assuming it isn't an Eclipse bug ;)

It's not a problem that breaks all JVM based software instantly. So maybe Apple tests but not long enough to trigger this issue. I really don't know what Apple would be 'warning' against. Don't use Java? There are t

It's not terminating directly. I've seen a few IDE crashes this week, less than one per day, but since there's no log there's no easy way to determine it's related to a macOS change.
