This is the same thing I hope mobile OSes can implement. If I tell the system I don't want an app to be able to send notifications, I don't want the app to be informed of my decision, because then it will keep bugging me about it.

Wayback Machine goes down a gazillion times a day and when it works it's extremely slow. I say this as someone who uses it several times a day.

That would be good for first contact only... And believe me, non technical people are unable to properly explain what they want. Going by what they ask without giving constant feedback means you'll end up with something that has little

Not sure if the most time consuming, but what really pisses me off is how much time I have to spend emailing/calling/etc clients to discuss project details, money, etc that I'd rather spend writing code. That's probably

He believes in meritocracy, that's the answer he gave, or at least the way I interpreted it. Of course he's not going to support what you ask of him since that goes against meritocracy.

What exactly can we do about someone who clearly doesn't give a fuck about the law? What message does it send if you let someone pile up traffic tickets with no consequence for himself?

What's debatable, that the Java version of Minecraft had terrible performance or that the console ports are not written in Java? About your other question: I only mentioned Minecraft.

by bzb3 6y ago
The performance of the Java version of Minecraft is so terrible that the entire game had to be rewritten to be played on consoles. Minecraft was not popular because of Java, Minecraft was popular despite Java.

No, his blog was deleted when they fired him (I don't remember the details). Also, he's been dead for a few years now. Both things are a shame because I liked his blog a lot (along with Chen's)

As long as having a certain score is not mandatory... I like my iPhones, and I couldn't care less about their repairability. If they stop working and I'm out of warranty I just buy a new one.
