The "Get Hired" call to action feels like it was yanked from hired.com... I'm not big on trademarking common words/phrases, but that's a little too close for my taste.

While I do have a car, I've found that I have to go out of my way to find a reason to need it in SF. I live in the Inner Sunset next a grocery store and Golden Gate Park. The Muni is two blocks away and there's a bus stop outside.

Apologies if anyone has already made a similar suggestion... but, 1000 seems like an arbitrary amount of karma. What do you guys think of a fluid amount of karma required to post a non-pending comment. Popular stories on the front page can

Looks cool. This reminds me of what Dekko was working on while they were still in business, though I suppose at Google scale.

I was able to meet Jim, albeit briefly, at Distill Conference last year. He gave one of my favorite talks of the conference (the link posted). It's useful advice for all programmers. He also performed 'God Writes in Lisp Code'

Completely agree. Focus on contributing as much as you can within the domains that your company opens up to you. In your own time at home, build something applicable to the search/ml problems you find interesting. Once you've got

Craigslist doesn't hold the same clout outside of the Bay Area in my experience. Almost never the best place to look for anything.

Have you lived in St. Louis? East St. Louis is not St. Louis. I lived in St. Louis for the better part of 27 years (Tower Grove South, St. Louis County, Central West End, and Boulevard Heights) and never had any problems. St. Louis is a cit

I'm adamantly against software patents, however, when it comes to chemistry patents, I know it's not a rubber stamp process. It can take a couple years to get a patent, and lots of patents are rejected. A lot of the process involv
