Ferarri and Maserati are already part of Fiat. Lamborghini is owned by Volkswagen. Edit: My mistake, Maserati is owned by Stellantis, which is the parent company of Fiat's parent company, and Ferrari went independent in 2015. So this d

I really love the ones that redirect you from the Control Panel to Settings, but then are somehow still missing the old functionality, so it then bounces you back to the Control Panel.

The two big consoles are literally x86 PCs. One even runs Windows; the other one runs a locked down version of FreeBSD. Why should they be allowed to do that but not smartphones? Their business model is a deliberate choice, and if sideloadi

Alma seems more of a corporate thing compared to Rocky being community supported. I have both deployed and they both work fine. Alma seems faster to update, though this is RHEL, not Arch. Alma also has a shell script that will convert other

Los Angeles county, where the doctor who wrote the piece is based, currently is at 70% capacity for ICU. Which is not as bad as the last peak, when it was 93%, but is not great, and it's trending upward. https://covidactnow.

As an iPhone user, I hope it's good! Apple could use some actual competition, and Qualcomm does not seem at all interested in providing it (Huawei did, but we saw how that went…).

The "contrived collision tests" are actual, standardized, government monitored collision tests, with verifiable results. Your "actual data of people driving the car" is not from the period when these claims were made. Ag

1991 was 13 years after the recall during which Ford went out of its way to reinforce the fuel tank to mitigate further criticism. There was a legitimate and well documented problem with the original design of the Pinto, and no article ab

It was though? Ford put the fuel tank in the crumple zone between the bumper and axle to maximize interior space. It was found to leak gasoline after a rear impact in every crash test they conducted before recalling it to modify the desig

The front iPhone camera uses an infrared array of dots for FaceID, not LIDAR. It's basically a miniaturized version of the Kinect from the Xbox (Apple bought the company that created it).

There was even one release of Windows 10 Home where you couldn't create a local account, unless you tricked it by not connecting to a network. Not sure if this is still the case with current builds or if they came to their senses. An

It seems insane that Tesla continues to shun LIDAR. Is it just pride at this point? Apple sells an $800 tablet with it built in, so while obviously the Tesla unit would have to be a lot larger and more powerful, I can’t see the cost argumen

Huh. Thanks; I stand corrected. The last time I messed with iOS development was years ago, and you could sign and deploy whatever you wanted locally. I forget if it required a developer account then, but definitely not a paid one.
