To be honest, I just grabbed a PDF of the Apple Logo II manual and blazed away at it, hence the scariness of some of the eval and rendering code... I got distracted by other things before completing the IO and editing parts but it was a lot

I'm with you. I have the A1200 I bought as a teenager and have recently acquired an Amiga 2000 that I'm in the process of restoring and upgrading. A new motherboard doesn't interest me as much as new CPU cards or other expans

I was interested in coding from a young age but was a terrible student. I barely scraped through high school and never completed any tertiary education. By 22 I was unhappily working as a pizza store assistant manager. I then took a pay cut

Forget about old mechanical hard drives. I installed one of these in an Amiga 2000 a couple of weeks ago: http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php?title=SCSI2SD . It lets me use an SD card as a HD. It's not the f

I've been running Ubuntu on an Inspiron 17R SE since 2012. With the exception of the multi-touch touchpad pretty much everything worked fine out of the box.

When I was about 5 I wandered into the room just in time to see my slightly older cousin watch the opening scene of An American Werewolf In London. That convinced me I wanted nothing to do with "scary" movies. A few years later I

I've read Neuromancer about once a year since my late teens. It only took me about 10 years to realize there's actually some pretty good comedy in there...
