I sound like a broken record, but Golang is totally worthless to me until $GOPATH is abandoned. I don't want everything down to my workspace structure determined for me. Once that's done with I think Go would be an amazing languag

My problem with CanCan is that when you begin to have more complicated access logic ability.rb becomes a giant mess. It's already a file where you just throw in all of your authorization logic anyways so it always feels a bit unruly on

Faster development, potentially less bugs, conventions, etc. All of that is highly dependent on what your projects needs but I can't imagine writing some of the Ember apps I've worked on in just plain jQuery while maintaining a cl

I don't refactor with fear in my Rails apps since they have pretty good test coverage. I'm not saying it's perfect, but I've never had slow development because I wanted to refactor in this context.

"the development SPEED of ruby with the SAFETY of STATIC TYPING" sounds kind of sketchy. Would you say that title is true?

I'm 21 and I do the same thing. I just don't feel like either having to pay $30 for a simple app to get all the features I want, paying to win, or paying just to play the game.

I agree it's not really worth it to port LESS yet, but I would say that it's not worth it to write anything new with LESS.

That's a really odd choice. I'm curious how that will turn out since adoption for Cappuccino is really low.

A much better title to this article would be "Comparing Programming Language Package Managers".

You have to install "reattach-to-user-namespace" which you can do with homebrew. Then you need to add the following to .tmux.conf set-option -g default-command "reattach-to-user-namespace -l zsh" There's a go

I'm not a Python user so I can't really compare. I still don't agree with it since it forces longer paths to get to your project, and I wouldn't really call it isolated.

$GOPATH is my biggest issue with Go. I'd much rather have some sort of config file than have Go determine anything from my project path.

I moved from a tiling WM to OS X a few years back with no big issues. Even then there are partial solutions such as https://github.com/ianyh/Amethyst

Is it default? I remember seeing the screencast when it was first gaining traction and immediately dismissing it. That should be something that isn't even included tbh.

Koa is only usable with >= 11.9 behind the --harmony flag, I doubt they'd want to release a new version of Express that most people can't/won't even use.

Yeah, I looked around for something other than a video with no luck. Even the video doesn't show any content.

As someone who has worked remotely for most of their career (which isn't very long since I am young) I can definitely say that working from home has a lot of negatives as well. I've ended up thinking that remote working is for peo

Personally I think Ember is closer to being Rails younger brother due to philosophies. I'd love to hear in detail why you picked Angular over Ember and (understandably) Backbone.

Nobody is forcing you to use Ember Data. There's quite a few alternatives out there and you can even use $.ajax. This is a very unfair comparison between a complete stable release of Angular and an alpha of Ember Data that even tells y

I've played around with Angular quite a bit lately as well and I definitely prefer Ember. You should really try both of them out and give them both a fair chance. Also, you don't have to use data with Ember, it's just a benef

I've been using Ember-data for the past few months on side projects and it's getting a lot more stable. I've rarely had issues with it in the past few weeks.
