Yes, I block JavaScript very aggressively with NoScript. I cannot in good conscience browse the web with JavaScript enabled anymore because of the insane amount of ads, trackers, and just poorly written site scripts slowing down my browser.

They can’t. Texas has much looser zoning laws, California has some of the strictest in the nation.

This doesn’t need to be zero sum. In cities like San Francisco, you can improve the already existing (but terrible) public transportation option with “politics”, as well as let Waymo and other self driving ride shares provide a competing op

Why is this a problem though? It seems to be working out very well in Japan. Regardless of where the debt ends up, it seems like the people benefit.

I don’t think the future of the metaverse will have anything to do with 3D actually. The 3D/VR stuff is more of a fad than a long term plan. The real vision behind the metaverse is thinking that many of the things we currently do in pe

I don’t mean to disparage ML generally. I think it has a lot of promise in academia, but its utility in the consumer electronics industry (especially one that’s pivoting towards entertainment services) seems pretty limited.

I can’t help but notice the timing of this. ML is starting to fizzle out as a “savior” of the industry after lofty promises were never fulfilled. Goodfellow was hired right at the peak of ML hype, so I have to assume his salary/total c

Highly recommend the Librem 14 personally. Pureboot, great set of mainline Linux drivers in PureOS, plus a very easily hackable firmware (I hacked mine to change the keyboard layout/behavior). The build quality is also surprisingly goo

It is! At least 99%, in my experience. The one big difference is that Podman is "daemonless", which is actually a huge advantage in a lot of cases. The one downside is that it won't automatically restart your containers if yo

I really like GNOME Web (aka Epiphany), especially the minimalist UI. But it’s just too slow for some reason. I’m not even sure why, considering how fast WebKit is in its other forms.
