Why is inch/ft easier than cm/m? As long as we use base 10, it seems trivial that units that are based on it are easier to deal with. Don't you hate it when unit prices for the same type of product, say coffee, are sometimes

For an AI noob like me: can you use spot instances to train models? They are about 1/3rd the price on AWS compared to on demand ones, so it'd make a significant difference.

I don't think GP is implying that it is OK to take risks with investor money. However it sounds right that you should get a longer prison term if you gamble and lose $8B than if you gamble and make some money on it.

IANAL but my understanding is that in a libel lawsuit the plaintiff has to prove that the defendant knew what they were saying was incorrect. That is a really high bar, and it is hard for me to imagine a scenario where Hans could do that. A

To add to the sibling post: 5^5 is around 3000. So 5 engineers have a team leader, 5 of them are under a director, etc... So 5 layers sounds about right for a Twitter sized company.

Language is flexible, and "seaweed bacon" clearly communicates what it is. Just like "soy/oat/coconut milk", the dairy lobby's objections notwithstanding.

Twitter's only argument could be that this wasn't a mass layoff assuming the numbers check out, IIRC less than 50 employees at a work location (whatever that means with all remote work). Musk bought the company about 30 days ago,
