I don't think it's about security. It's about fobing off password resets on somebody else.

it'll be interesting for sure. I don't mean to be discourging- but it seems like taking a swing at an Echo is a right of passage in reverse engineering circles.

I can't see the article- but a little research on ERCOT's wholesale pricing maps reveals two things: 1) today's prices are somewhere between -$200 and +$200 and 2) theres 900+ discrete pricing locales in Texas. And, here'

Sorry if I find that things like https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39804212/ existing in checks 2025 repulsive. Especially when those are the same arguments put forward for lobotomies. If somebody is capable of _ELECTI

Not sure, but typefacing/fonts is absolutely cursed with this stuff. I'd be shocked if there isn't a true type font that runs DOOM. There's a reason Microsoft pushed font rendering out of the kernel in Vista. (Technicall

it's even worse: SLA's can only discharge to ~half their nameplate capacity or so- and if you're pulling tons of amps, it's even less. LiFePo4 otoh you'll get the nameplate capacity. Then theres trivialities like LF

nothing ever trickled down. philanthropy is not trickle down, and the gates foundation has to be one of the most critical I know of.

I notice nobody- OP/tfa included, is mentioning that that 30ms transfer is 10-20ms longer miliseconds longer than an ATX3.0/3.1 PSU's hold-up time.

LiFePO4 generally has a 0.5 or 1C discharge. You'd end up with a 500W UPS that could run for 10 hours, or 48v+ battery packs. and yes, they're also happy to heave to: plenty of DC ups' use NMC. Apc can't even be bothered

note: its the additional component and its knock on effects that are the cost- not the half cent diode. aka- you add a diode, now you have to add procurement, warehousing, extra time on the pick and place, possibly a more expensive/lar

I can't imagine theres much overlap between "we will need to update this firmware for the next decade." and "Let's bet the farm on the documentation being perfect, and all the downloads still available."

I forget how I went about it, but I was able to get which chipsets their modules used. But honestly, unless they've sold out- 10GTek has been good for home use for me- at least for AOC and DAC. all my bidi stuff is second hand ciso off

the AQC chips at least work with 1/10 only ports on older switches. And, it's not that hot, a single 1x1x0.5cm heatsink takes care of it. One large issue is that mikrotik's thermal design for SFP+ is a joke.

fiber vs DAC isn't really a cost concern st a home level. a 2m LC patch cable is $5 and used bidi cisco optics $5-10 each. not much more for new optics either.

minor nitpick: I wouldn't call it stagnating. They were artificially inflated. as an aside: for pricing, 20 years ago unmanaged 1G-BaseT ethernet switches were $20/port. That's the region 10G-BaseT switches occupy right now i
