As someone who just started playing around with C++ after many many many years of absence, i must say i am surprised how well it goes. I love the new "auto" keyword for variable declarations. I had a hard time to get into pointer arithmetic

I just hope that Motorola+Google will be a rolemodel in the future in this regard. The Google Nexus devices have been very good to go for modding. Now Motorola needs to do that as well. They could even make us of the modding scene to provid

Mh, i just tested on my phone ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.darkbloodst... ) and i don't see/hear a latency, certainly nothing above 100ms, so i don't think your remake "NONE of the devices currently on the market.."

I am wondering how true this is with Android 4.1+, because audio latency was one of the major goals for Android 4.1 and more so in 4.2 and was supposed to bring audio latency on par with iOS. See: https://developer.android.com/about/versio

What niche apps would that be? I mean the same statement can be made for Android and Widget Apps, Homescreen Apps and whatever else is not possible on iOS. I doubt the amount of your niche apps is more then a fraction of those :P P.S.: My p

Sure, it could be made easier, but i am wondering if it is done on purpose. Android encourages the developers to stay away from the NDK unless it's really necessary. Making it easier to build incompatible apps (= NEON) would surely mean mor

I always felt like the lockscreen itself is a total waste. Most people don't use complex security mechanism on it but rather some slide stuff and why? It wasn't possible to disable the lockscreen for a while but at least now it's possible t

So, are you saying i can buy this movie online, put it on my NAS and play it on my: media player, Linux laptop and transfer it to my iPad or Android Phone for travels? That's just a dealbreaker, and i'm sure not only for me. As long as the

Well, there are quite beautiful homescreens and widgets for android. You don't have to use them but i would say that iPhone users are just missing out on something. Sure, you are used to just take what Apple gives you and praise that but i

Exactly. I don't want and can't store work documents on some 3rd party system in the cloud. And my whole point is to have one piece of hardware and not half a dozen. Of course Apple would like you to buy all kinds of hardware instead of one
