Yes, ok, he is 18, that's true, so my post is probably a bit harsh. But still, if he keeps that attitude he'll be 30 or 40 and use Django in a time where everyone has moved on to new stuff(tm).

yes, agreed. Those were examples. Talking about low level OS basics or POSIX or whatever is the same. What i wanted to say is that so many people never seem to get out of a very tiny skillset, for years. It's the worst people to work with,

Sure i have. As most web developers (i imagine) i started writing my first page in PHP, hardcoded passwords in a .php file which did also output HTML, it was "awesome" :P Deploying PHP also means updating database schemas or configuring .ht

I have the feeling that many people are distracted by the bad video. The terminal actually looks like this: http://www.bestubuntu.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/01/eae91__... It's very clean and nice looking... I don't understand how this

I had theefl-trunk installed before, but ppa-purge didn't remove everything, i suppose. Went through libe* libraries and purged whatever came from e17. Installed again.. working now, woohooo!

Why would it be absurd? Do you use a monochrome display? Because, let's face it, black/white is all you need. Or green/white.

There is a big miscalculation: Graphene seems to be extremely light weight. 1 liter of graphene will definitely not weight 1kg. Wikipedia [1] only gives measures for m²: Graphene is very light, weighing only about 0.77 milligrams per square

You don't seem to understand that i am all for open standards but against a monopoly, against so called "standards" that are defended by use of patents instead of innovation. The MPEG-LA is forcing a standard on people by misuse of patents.

Do you have a source for "tiny royalties"? How much does MPEG-LA earn in a year? A few millions per licensing company here, a few hundred thousand per video site there.. It adds up!

There will never be an alternative the way it is today. One of the reasons the MPEG-LA exists is to prevent and supress competition, don't you think? The whole concept is bullshit. I tell you how i see it: In a world without MPEG-LA (even w
