It's still a bit silly, I can plug my smartphone in the same PC and have a completely un-monitored network link.. So instead of having /some/ sort of control on traffic if their firewall was not rendering the link useless for

Well I hope they don't proxy the DNS -- it's quite costly to do so, if they don't it'll be fine. If they do, well, I'll have to find another way using 'long' http transactions and such...

Ah, I need to start using this. Work's firewall is completely bonkers, and they just removed access to webchat.freenode.net, so I need to find a way to punch thru... You can't even ssh out, or use websockets etc...

I'm the author/maintainer of simavr: https://github.com/buserror/simavr I've had to refuse some merge requests, I did it by mostly ignoring them, or explaining that it looks like a very large patch for a

Ohh I like that; look pretty nice, lightweight, the 'channels' look quite handy. The only 'downside' I can think of is the lack of namespacing for the function names and such.. I would have liked a co_* for coroutines, c

Well I suggest you don't try then; I'm in the reverse situation, it seems like I can store energy (fat) very efficiently, and also build muscle incredibly quickly. So this 'diet' or lifestyle is quite suited to me, but I

I haven't noticed any muscle lost -- but then again I put on muscle /very/ easily (a bit too easily actually, I get hypertrophia if I do too much sport). For energy, it turns out your body /does/ have some to burn,

As the previous poster replied, it's related to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ketosis I don't know if you can really get rid of the taste, I'd be curious to know of course; but you kind of get used to it

Yes I know, and that's why longer fast work quite a lot better than short ones, you do lose weight like /crazy/. I seems to lose nearly 1Kg a day.

I'm not really trying to do it 'by the book' -- I think it's better that you come up with something that works for you. Fasting with just water is a bit tough, as you can get a metallic taste in your mouth that is rather

I agree; I try to go out and have a small walk if someone cruel is having curry or anything else strong :-) Also, I'm lucky that I have a separate 'lab' building where I can go and do some hacking during dinner, most excellen

I rather often fast for a lot longer than 16h; I think the 'day fast' is a pretty rough deal, as the hunger (ie, the down side of fasting) is strongest on the first day. So really a small fast isnt too interesting, as you get all

There is also my own 'minifs' https://github.com/buserror/minifs ; it's targeted at embedded, but it works fine on x86s too. Haven't ported it to musl yet (mostly due to the fact that musl wasn'

I do so feel related to that article. I compile distros all day for embedded systems, and I am certain that perhaps 80% of the build time is /just/ autocrap tools checking for the bazillion's time if 'strlen' exists

I think my 'phone' experience peaked at the Sony Ericsson M600i, fantastic keyboard on it, nice screen, mp3 and stuff. And yeah, a week of battery life. Now I have a n5 whose screen broke by itself one day (I swear!). I put it dow

I'm in the same boat; didn't work at all on OSX when I tried. In fact, even on windows the plugin somehow failed to install properly, and I never even managed to 'register' the key. The support helpfully told me to raise

I use 2 Benq BL3201PT for a few months now (side by side), I like them. Pixel pitch is still usable without HiDPI mode, and there is a lot of real estate. The screen itself has very nice reviews, and I understand why; it's well made, h

Being bitcoin-clueless, that appears interesting; I've been willing to get some to do some transactions; some chinese sellers are starting to accept them for esoteric stuff -- they can't seem to easily to paypal and/or visa..

I know, but I really went over with a comb on the HRMC website, asked them, asked all around and everyone agreed. These transactions are 'zero rated' -- therefore, you need to pay 1[34].5% VAT back... Stupid, but the rule is clear

I agree; unless working for google or something, the ceiling for a super-duper dev at hiring time seems to be around 65k -- perhaps a bit more if you stay and negotiate well, but I topped up at 75k before I became a contractor. Now, this co

I do largely prefer the hourly rate myself. The reason is that it is way too easy to work 'more' but it is very hard to work 'less' when paid daily. It was a problem I had for all the years I was employed, and I hate it.

BTW there is a HUGE catch with that fixed rate system. It more or less prevents you from doing any work overseas (for a company that doesn't have a UK office). The reason is that the work you do oversea would have to be invoiced as &#x

Useful bits of information in there. The fact the arm-gic driver doesn't handle any of the priority features of the GIC can be quite a bit of hindrance. At least, FIQ gives you ONE trump card.
