Article is devoid of anything new. Even the title is lying, as the article just claims that other manufacturers 'may' cheat. So it's all rehash of pretty much everything we already know, and nothing more. aka clickbait

Seriously, how can that post get -3 karma; why the hate, I have a lot more sympathy for Mr Clueless without backups than this. The user in question committed his data, his 'life' as he calls it, to a service that is made for mom+p

To be fair, they probably came up with that in a way to reduce the /other/ army of people coming to see in the 'genius' to restore the laptop they've never backuped EVER and have accidentally wiped, containing 10+ y

It's pretty simple really. OSX used to be pretty nice, back then. Quick, very stable, lots of features etc. Then, the ioOSification started, and we're down to El Crapitan where the Mail.app barely works anymore. And that version i

I've been taking cold showers for years, it gives such a good kick in the morning it's MUCH more efficient than coffee to get you from that lethargic state you can get in the morning to full-speed. Oh and if you had a heavy evenin

Another essential point here is when you get 'fancy' error messages. Google is amazing at finding why (and usually, The Patch) when you fail to compile random packages. I have my own little cross-distro builder[0] and I /rare

I think that misses one big point here; and a point that I live by: Don't waste your neurons and time. Time is the most precious thing you have, so don't waste it learning stuff you won't need. Even if it's shinny. Resis

I agree on that. Every subscription seems to think everyone is willing to pay $9.99/£10 a month for them. They are completely bonkers. They have absolutely no idea how people consume news; they still believe I'm going to go there

Yes I appreciate that paper-thin walls aren't going to cut it, that's why I mentioned 'luxury' flats.... I lived in quite a few in France, and I remember playing electric guitar, loudly, at 3am in one and the neigbours c

Well a deeper problem is the 'home' thing. I'm an immigrant from France, and I'm always /amazed/ at the fact that everyone want a house No wonder there is property shortage, as most of the space is wasted. Se

Have you factored the tax you would pay on any money you make? Thats 40% -- if you take this into consideration, price rises aren't THAT extraordinary... I'm also one of the lucky one whose house price has risen by 25% over the la

You can also give them DHCP leases that don't set the gateway. That's usually a good idea anyway, and it's pretty easy to do if you use something like dnsmasq. On my config I have an IP range on my subnet that is the default

So that is... traditionally very inflated so you are tempted to sell it, and they will lower the price afterward once you're committed because they are not paid a percentage anyway. Ahhh estate agents, my favourites...

Tried it, but I found that judging by a single picture whether my house is 'more' or 'less' is too limiting. I honestly tried to tweak it afterward to see if the valuation would make a bit more sense, but it didn't.

Funny, I do the other way around! 5 days fast, 2 days eating. I think a 2 day fast is a bit harsh; you 'pay' the price of hunder the first day, but only have one day really of 'benefiting' from it... In my case if I have

On a related note, ghdl [0] is a similar project but for VHDL. I spent a lot of time using it before I switched to verilog, it's a pretty nice tool on the other side of the fence. [0]: http://home.gna.org/ghdl/
