I'm really happy with Chrome Beta on Android. Easily beats all the alternatives. YMMV.

Well, of course it was a disaster long before Elop. If it wasn't, there wouldn't be Elop in a first place. What happened after Elop, is how we should evaluate Elop. And that is really really sad tale. It's not something like "my strategy wo

In this situation all the good will is already used, and the polite approaches have already been tried. Nothing does seem to get the message to Nokia, and now we have entered to the "screw you" phase. Nokia has decent hardware (good cameras

Correct. Elop is Full of Shit. Period. My faith is back in Nokia, when they supply a phone with Google, Nexus by Nokia. Now that would be something. Elop still doesn't seem to understand that Android is "The Windows" of the mobile devices.

Good question. I see this more or less like chicken-egg situation. Right now it seems that client side is quite well maturing. Client side is the easier part of websockets. PHP's whole model is 'shared nothing', that's why it fits so poorly

What PHP needs is the ability to run websockets natively without extra setup. Right in a mod_php or PHP-FPM. None of the current platforms have this right. You always have to run extra web servers in place of Apache or Nginx. Yes, this is a

I know that. But if you want this to work on broader scale the system needs to support all the files regardless of their format. I'm not saying that what you are proposing is useless, it is just a more vertical solution for a specific needs

I'm not sure about totally new document format. But I would like to see something new in file collaboration. A system that is distributed, and standardized (a new protocol for file collaboration, something like http but for binary blobs, p2

Ribbon sucks. It sucked then. It sucks now even more. It doesn't work on desktop, and it certainly does not work with touch. Almost nobody has adopted ribbon. Even MS does not use it outside Office. You are not alone.

Maybe MS thinks that the computer in a future is actually your phone. Then you have different accesories for it. At office you have display, keyboard and mouse. The phone automatically senses their presense and atarts to wirelesly communica

The author nails it down. I have been doing functional PHP for many years now. I rarely need objects or classes. I don't like the direction where PHP is heading. Namespaces were nice, anonymous functions were nice, and short array syntax is

I think you should stay with PHP, but you can introduce other sexy things like utilizing the cloud servces. Swapping Apache and mod_php with Nginx and PHP-FPM. Use NoSQL stores like Redis, and MongoDB. Take advantage of HTML5 and CSS3. Look

With ~50 users, you don't need central management in my opinion. Yes, from sysadmin perspective it would be nice and professional, but on the other hand, it costs, and adds administration. Is it worth it? I'm not sure. I really hope, that t
