One of the comments on that the story summed up my first impressions quite well- I'm glad Firefox let's me override whatever horrible font the web designers choose. I'm really glad I'll be able to ignore potentially thousands of unreadable

If you listen to Frank Peters' intro, Caulfield had apparently been fired from the company prior to the interview being published. Not that TechCrunch ever messes up their facts...

I'd agree that pages without a title banner or heading are probably making a usability mistake, but I disagree that titles don't impact usability. When done correctly, correct titles make a site much more usable. Usability doesn't just appl

I think this argument is disingenuous. We as consumers do not have any "right" to copyrighted content. If you can't watch a movie because of some distribution problem, so what? It's their loss because they've alienated a purchaser, but it s

You could try reading the article. Unlike many other prosecutors in the state, Jackson ... was personally opposed to capital punishment... He also considered it wasteful: because of the expense of litigation and the appeals process, it cos

I think this article is sort of a work ethic litmus test. I'm actually considering having some contractors and business partners read it, just to see what their reactions are. I realized the first time I ever read it that the article was a

I wonder if there is a reasonable solution that somehow incorporates the benefits of string interning. However, given that it is really designed for specialized scenarios, maybe that is not practical/useful. Also, if any one is interested,

When Musk was interviewed in Wharton's podcast, one of the key points he pushed was the ability of a startup to keep burn rate low. It appears that his philosophy on spending is genuine, and not just lip service, which I find pretty refresh
