It's too locked down and unproductive. C64 was seminal, not only because it was widespread but because it was relatively open. SBC are picking up that trend and JH7110 is a good contender to the final hardware. The only thing left is t

The biggest misstake is to not upgrade the GPU further. The competition has always been the Jetson Nano. Vision Five 2 is now my favourite passively coolable SBC.

I think this is the death of the versatile engine. Now we will make purposeful engines, eventually one genre will lead the way into what companies call metaverse. VR might be too complex. Only persistent multiplayer is interesting long term

If you need a XML editor for Trees, Nodes or .png sprite sheets: http://move.rupy.se/file/logic.html I used it for DB schemas and game pixel art.

1030 DDR5 is as good as the 660 but at 30W instead of 140W. I can still play all games, the only games that struggle are the ones that hit their head in efficiency roof because of engines or pushing the boundaries too far. Most titles are C

I have stopped at 1030, the 2GB of VRAM is a limiting factor that I appreciate. As someone who is targeting Raspberry 4 and Vision Five 2 where the low end is still 2GB shared RAM there is zero point to go higher. Embrace the limitation!

I don't know if I'm adding to the noise or signal but there is a definite solution to this problem: Put your C data in Arrays of 64 byte Structs. Java is ok too if you want object oriented atomic joint parallelism, but I only reco

Vision Five 2 is moving decently fast. The latest release handles most things without locking. I got my 3 MMOs working on it (Java, Java+LWJGL and C+), the impressive part is both OpenGL 1 and OpenGL ES 3 work as expected, but much too slow

The problem with the web is the browser, probably the most complex project humans maintain. I chose to make my own native app (that uses HTTP too) and I can now see these same complexities mount. The trick is to say no and stop features.
