I like Roku - They have been affordable from the beginning and allowed non-gamers like me to enjoy Netflix while the company blocks Linux. The real ultimate feature that's missing here though - the one that no one else has and would make go

An open OS X, while slightly oxymoronic, sounds pretty fantastic to me.

This is a knee-jerk reaction to a situation that the Texas legislature really can't stop. Cameras are becoming more and more ubiquitous with or without drones. Even with the law there's nothing stopping someone from posting illegally captu

I'm not really a fan of MS Outlook, but I am forced to use it at work. It does have support for conversation grouping though. Just do "arrange by" -> "show as conversations" from the context menu.

I don't see what's new here. I already use muscle memory to remember my passwords. I am awful at rote memorization, but when I train my fingers to perform a 12 character password dance, everything is fine and I can remember the password f

There is more to this discussion (for and against) than this, but I think you may have missed the point. Money is not really a resource in and of itself. It's kind of a 'point system' we use to allocate finite resources. I do think that th

There are problems with Google, and I don't disagree with the headline, but I don't see Siri as the disruption. Google already has voice search, and I am pretty sure they are working hard on getting it up to the user friendliness of Siri.

Reader being a "full-fledged alternative interface for Plus" is really the only sane decision at this point. One that would excite me. (I already use fb-rss for reader-Facebook integration.) I hope that's the decision that they made, but

So, there are a few problems I see in your diet. 1.) Low fat salad dressing is generally a bad thing. You should add olive oil, butter, or some natural fat source any time you eat vegetables because you can't absorb many of the vitamins in

I was super excited when Google+ came out. I am a total Google fanboy. At least, I was a week ago. Then I found they didn't support their paying customers (apps users). So I waited and waited. Finally supported a week ago! I'm PUMPED a

I don't care for the new interface and I agree that it's slower, but that may just be because I'm not accustomed to the look. GUI changes are minor to me and easily fixed with a greasemonkey script anyway. The real problem is that they s

This goes back to the flawed notion that calorie restriction is an effective weight loss tool. The root of this problem is not that you are eating too much. Eating too much is an effect, not a cause. The root of the problem is that you w

I contend that the lack of fat just makes the product less filling so we eat more. On top of that it tastes terrible so we add a bunch of sugar. I love plain full-fat yogurt (ex: Fage total or brown cow cream top). Unfortunately non-fat y

This is a terrible article. Their main error was buying palm. That was a huge gamble that was very unlikely to pay off in this market. You can't beat a 'free' OS on cost and you don't have the magic marketing and design to make a high-en

I am no fan of Apple - mainly for their closed architecture, but I am also a cold-hearted economist when it comes to these types issues and this article is a bit of a one sided hit piece. I would like to throw in a few counterpoints so we c

Maybe we can get to the "mutually assured destruction" phase of patents where everyone has so many ridiculous patents that any lawsuit is sure to ruin everyone? Of course, that doesn't stop patent trolls (terrorist rent seekers) with no ski
