Do you think that your preference is just from your previous experience? JSX feels like uninhibited templating to me, which is great when it is done right (and a little crazy when done poorly). I also feel like it gives cleaner error messag

I mean react-router is almost a 3 year old library trying to handle a rather complex problem. The first three versions were largely the same with no major changes that I can think of except for switching from context to higher order functio

I don't really know what you are trying to get at. Almost every front-end framework is going to have some type of "proprietary syntax" -- that's basically what a framework is. Even backend templating languages have custo

This quite frankly is answer to approximately 75% of the complaints that you hear about the React/JS community. Unless you are doing something relatively cutting edge like isomorphic rendering (next.js), you are basically wasting your

Maybe... but that's what people said after the primary elections and it wasn't toned down much. At the end of the day, Trump is a nihilist and an egotist that feeds of off the passion of his supporters. "Trump" the perso

"Oh well, the world will go on." Will it though? We have a frisky Russia, trouble brewing in the South China Sea, and the Middle East/ISIS/Syria. A large reason why these conflicts are not worse is because of the restrai

Whelp, on the bright side future historians will now have an easy way to mark the decline of the United States. I feel totally numb. As an American, I could not be any more disappointed in the people of this country.

I actually generally include this in my Babel configuration: https://www.npmjs.com/package/jsx-control-statements . People might argue that this isn't the React way of doing things, but it's easier than settin

Solid list. Having just used Angular 2 on a side project, I'd also add that I'm not the biggest fan of passing properties between components. @Input and @Output don't seem particular intuitive nor necessary, but maybe I'

I would say thats a fair criticism of any programmer though. Unless you are using data structures and algorithm design (etc.) on a relatively frequent basis at work, you aren't going to remember much of your CS degree 3-4 years down th

I've always used React Router for routing. It's super flexible and plays very nicely with Redux and server-side rendering. In terms of syncing up state to views, you might want to look into 'redial' and 'react-redux

Indeed, but with BEM, you keep a specificity of 1, which means you can override styles simply by adding a class and ensuring that it is further down in the style sheet than its other base classes. Like mentioned above, this keeps things sim

While I don't necessarily disagree, I might argue that the power of JS comes in its flexibility. JS is as near to a 'universal' language as there is, and people are coming from a variety of different backgrounds to use it. It

'It's dumb, because most of those little shim libraries are things that would be part of the language's core library in a less shitty language.' I think you are mistaking the language with the browser.
